Show Dates For 2009

May 23rd

June 20th

The Greater Baytown Quarter Horse Association is based in Baytown, TX, approximately 25 miles due east of Houston. We have the 2009 Show Dates which are posted above. The Shows will be at the TVE in Liberty due to Hurricane Ike damage to the Baytown Fairgrounds arena. We have decided to go back to the single show - single judge format in order to make the cost more reasonable in the current economic climate. We are looking for new Board Members to inject fresh ideas in to the mix. If you are interested, please call one of the Board Members to find out when and where we are meeting.

We at GBQHA believe that you should have fun at our shows, so we do not require that any of the participants do any "work" while showing. We have a great bunch of volunteers that graciously donate their time and labor to help make the show run smoothly. This way you can concentrate on being the best that you can be.

You can save time by printing and filling out the Entry Forms prior to arrival. If possible, we prefer that you print the form in color as this helps us categorize your entry at the show. Entry forms are in Adobe .pdf format. If you have any questions, please contact one of the Board Members.

As usual, all AQHA rules apply at our shows. In addition, we have an internal set of rules pertaining to GBQHA shows. You can access both the GBQHA and AQHA Rules here.  There has been a change in the rules regarding series award eligibility, please read. You can also view and print the Showbill.

Visit our new Pictures page and see if you made it on our website. We are attempting to compile a list of email addresses of people that would like to receive the notifications by email. This would greatly reduce our costs of operating the shows. In addition, it can help us to send out notification in the event that we have to re-schedule, postpone or cancel a coming show. If you would like to receive notifications by email, send an email to gbqha@gbqha.com with your full name and a request to be added to the list. We promise these emails will be kept confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than GBQHA business. One other note, if you are not currently on our email or mailing list and would like to be added, email us your FULL name and mailing address and we will add you. This is for your own protection to prevent spammers from joining our group.

One note on the egroup: many Internet Service Providers (ISP's) are routinely filtering emails from yahoogroups. You must specifically request that these emails are allowed to be delivered to you or you will not receive them. You will need to check with your ISP and find out if they filter them and how to allow the emails through.

We are always in need of sponsors to help us with the operating costs of the show. If anyone would like to sponsor the classes or if you know of a sponsor that would like to help, please contact one of our Board Members.
